Homework Questions Task 1

How dose it affect the people in Australia?

An earthquake happened not long after the bushfires in Victoria. Earthquakes have a large affect on Australia because they destroy our countries and us as humans.
Many people die because of an earthquake that happened in the past. Earthquakes are a large caution to our country. The people responded, that they would die and lose their family members and homes.

How dose it affect the environment

Earthquakes can do many things such as:
1.they can knock the trees down
2.they make cracks in the ground
3.they can break water and gas lines, which can start uncontrollable fires
4.They can pull out the farmer’s crops, which make the prices of food, go up.
5.They can break a sewerage tank then it will go into the river.

Why does this Disaster occur?

The earth crust is divided into several major plates, some 50 miles thick which
Move slowly and continuously over the Interior.

Most earthquakes occur as the result of slowly accumulating pressure that cause the ground to slip abruptly along a geological fault plane on or near a plate boundary. The resulting waves of vibrating within the earth create ground motion at the surface that vibrates in a very complex manner.

Identify one significant Natural Disaster that could affect people from Australia?

When an earthquake strikes it moves the earths crust and it builds up pressure, which sends out a series of shockwaves, and it affects the people by creating an enormous amount of damage to their homes, roads, buildings and lives. It also affects people by the way of living with no food, water, transport, electricity or shelter.

How do the people respond to the disaster?

The people of the country/city would gather around together to help each other out by asking other countries to donate materials or financial help to re-build their country back together.
